BUSH CAMPAIGN BILLED FOR CAMPAIGN TRAVEL DONE ON TAXPAYERS DIME

DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATORS: BUSH HAS BROUGHT IOWA NOTHING BUT MISERY
(DES MOINES) – A group of Iowa lawmakers gathered on the steps of the Iowa Capitol [last] Tuesday, to spotlight the troubles of the middle class and the havoc the Bush Administration has wreaked on American families.
Middle class Iowans are having a harder time making ends meet, said State Senator Matt McCoy (D-Des Moines.) Although pResident Bush says his tax cuts and economic policies are helping the middle class, he is costing the average Iowa family $19,410 per year.
McCoy and his fellow lawmakers cited a recently released report on the Middle Class Misery Index. The Middle Class Misery Index combines seven different indicators: median family income, college tuition, health care costs, gasoline costs, bankruptcies, the homeownership rate and private-sector job growth. In the last three years, the Index fell 13 points the largest three-year fall on record
According to Representative Janet Petersen (D-Des Moines), job loss has had a devastating effect on Iowa families. During the Bush Administration, Iowa has seen over 29,000 manufacturing jobs disappear. 8300 Iowans have exhausted their benefits, Petersen said. The only jobs that have been created are low-paying service jobs. Those dont pay families bills.
