Our current bad farm policies reward continuous chem-intensive industrial corn and bean monocultures, while pretending that just a little tinkering around the edges of that system will give us clean water. It won’t.
Here is my memory of a quotation that should guide future Iowa farm policies. “Unless we allow the land to produce beauty as well as food, it will, in the end, produce neither.”
