Republicans would rather give teachers guns and have them engage with active shooters  than concede the need to do something about America’s gun proliferation problem and the natural and logical consequences of that which is, random gun violence.  The problem tragically landed on the doorstep of Perry, Iowa last month.  I can’t think of a better way to convince a young Iowan to NOT want to become a teacher than to make them responsible for taking out an active shooter at school.
