Des Moines, Iowa — Farmers, community leaders, and public officials from across the state will educate Iowans during an Iowa Rural Roundtable Wednesday evening, hosted by a coalition including Progress Iowa, Iowa Farmers Union, AFSCME Council 61, Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, Iowa Citizen Action Network, Iowa Main Streets and Country Roads, Health Care for America NOW Iowa, Lower Drug Prices Iowa, and RuralOrganizing.org.

The roundtable will take place virtually and focus on the successful efforts of the Biden administration to expand broadband access to grants for childcare centers, improve our infrastructure, and increase local housing investments, among other tangible improvements to Iowa’s small towns and rural areas.

Speakers will include former Iowa Representative Chris Hall, who now serves as Federal Program Officer for Iowa with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). Hall will share information about the expanded broadband initiatives in Iowa.
