Action alert from Rob Hogg –

Please join us in Marshalltown on Saturday, July 8, for an in-person conference, “Revitalizing Citizen Climate Advocacy,” starting at 9:00 a.m. and running through 4:30 p.m. at the Iowa Valley Community College conference center. (The conference center is located south of Highway 30 on the south side of campus at the entrance near the ball fields.)

This is a great chance to re-connect with Iowans across the state and renew our involvement in citizen climate advocacy. As the climate crisis deepens, we need more citizens getting involved for the climate action we so urgently need. It’s time for much more significant action on climate.

Sponsored by the Iowa Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby, the conference will feature a panel at 1 p.m. with speakers from the Iowa Environmental Council, the Sierra Club Beyond Coal  campaign, Iowa Interfaith Power & Light, and the Clean Energy Districts of Iowa.

If you can’t make it, please take a few minutes this week to write or call one or more of our US Representatives (Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Ashley Hinson, Zach Nunn, and Randy Feenstra) to urge them to do more (not less) to help us cut climate pollution by 50% or more by 2030. It’s what the science says is now required to avoid the worst consequences of climate change. See the”take action” page of the Citizens Climate Lobby website or just call their local or DC offices.
