“This is a part of us now” – Natalie Arias
Today is the one year anniversary of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Nineteen children and two teachers were killed. Seventeen others were injured but survived.
I was talking to a friend about the fact that there have been so many mass shootings in the US that we could recognize multiple “anniversaries” literally every day and it would only cover 2022 and up to now in 2023. According to Everytown.org in 2022 alone, over 600 people were killed, with over 2,700 wounded.
If you would like to do something about gun violence besides read about it and talk about it, here are some links to organizations who are working to stop the insanity.
