We are all tired of Democrats letting themselves be pushed around by the NRA and tea party.   Anesa Kajtazovic, currently serving her 2nd term in the Iowa House of Representatives, is running for U.S. Congress in District 1 and has shown herself to be a leader who is unafraid to stand up to special interests. Last week the gun lobby came after me going as far as publishing my home address and cell phone number to their Facebook page, which was then shared over 700 times.

The harassment that ensued was relentless and downright over the top, but instead of intimidating me they’ve left me more resolved than ever to fight to end gun violence, fight for progressive values, and the middle class in Congress.

Recently I was one of 16 Democrats in the Iowa House and the only one in this race who voted against legalizing gun suppressors or silencers in Iowa. I’m opposed to Stand Your Ground laws, and I’ve always advocated for universal background checks.

I’ve made it clear to the people of Iowa about where I stand on the tough issues. Unlike some of my opponents in this Primary, I’m not afraid to stand up to powerful interest groups, including the gun lobby. When it comes down to it, I’ll show them that I too can stick to my guns–but I need your help.
