Newman Abuissa is an Iowa City resident, an engineer for the Iowa Department of Transportation, and was born in Syria. He is a naturalized U.S. citizen and before the Syrian conflict, he made regular trips to Syria with his family to visit friends and family who live there. Pat Minor recently interviewed Abuissa on her PATV program Peace by Piece. It is worth the hour to hear Abuissa’s perspective on the Syrian crisis.
