Reminder from Citizens For Community Improvement cci.org
The buzz is already building for our big “Money Out, People In” Kickoff at the Capitol next Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 9–4 pm.
Did you catch the great write up in the Des Moines Register?
It lays out our “Put People First” agenda and the labor allies who will be joining us for our big rally following Gov. Branstad’s Condition of the State address.
In addition to this powerful response to Branstad’s pro-corporate agenda, we’ve got a number of big meetings with key legislators and officials lined up, including meeting with:
- Rep. Jack Drake and Sen. Joe Seng, chairs of Senate and House Ag committees, on Iowa DNR and factory farm issues;
- Sen. Jack Hatch on Medicaid expansion;
- Sen. Jeff Danielson on stopping Voter ID and other voter suppression efforts;
- Sen. Herman Quirmbach on corporate tax transparency; and
- DNR Dir. Chuck Gipp and the Environmental Protection Commission on the Assoc. of Business and Industry’s bad “hands off environmental enforcement” rule.
To make your drive easier, we have busses coming from several areas of the state. http://cciaction.org/jan-15-get-on-the-bus/
Help us kick-off the 2013 legislative session right! Stand together with hundreds of like-minded Iowans to push for an Iowa that puts our communities before corporations and people before profits, politics and polluters.
See you next Tuesday,
David Goodner
Organizer
P.S. There’s still time to register for the webinar “Fighting for Clean Water and Taking Power Away from Factory Farms” Thursday Jan. 10 at 7 pm and get the inside scoop on key statehouse issues.
