This Week On The Fallon Forum: Not Guilty!

To those of you who feel the world would be a better place with me behind bars, I’m sorry to disappoint you. Last Friday, I was found not-guilty of the crime of trespass. Sure, I’m happy not to be in jail or to pay $650 in fines and court costs. But more than anything, I’m happy for the First Amendment and for our right to peaceably assemble and redress our grievances when government fails to act responsibly.

On KCCI News, juror Amiee Mairs said I was not out of line “to stand up for First Amendment rights and put the Constitution over a curfew.” My attorney, Joseph Glazebrook, joins me on Wednesday to dig into the ruling in more detail.

Monday, it’s “Speaking of Business” with Sylvia DeWitt. Linda Kramer joins us, too. She owns Kramer’s Specialty Foods, a family-owned business in Camanche, Iowa. After years of effort, Linda was granted a food processing plant license and now produces 260 cases of salsa each day — in her home! Now that’s a cottage industry!

Also Monday, Dean Lerner joins me to discuss the recent news about the Nursing Home Administrators Board pursuing disciplinary action against two administrators. One question we’re asking is why is this even news? Shouldn’t it be what the Board does on a regular basis?

Tuesday, this weekend’s horrific rampage by a U.S. Army sergeant in Balandi, Afghanistan, killing women and children as they slept, has ignited calls for Obama to end the war immediately. But there are deeper, more far-reaching concerns raised by this crime as well.

Also Tuesday, we’ll talk about energy, the defeat (for now) of the Keystone Pipeline, and what might prove to be our final conversation – at least for awhile – about MidAmerican’s nuclear power bill.

Wednesday, Dr. David Drake talks about some of the controversies surrounding  psychiatric medication prescription. We’ll also talk with Joseph Glazebrook, the attorney who represented me in last week’s trial.

Thursday, State Senator Brad Zaun (R-Urbandale) talks about an education proposal he floated recently that has generated quite a bit of controversy. We also talk with State Rep Dan Kelley (D-Newton) about happenings at the Iowa Statehouse.
