Rep. Steve King: Local Issues Of Little Concern In 4th District Race

Politico posted an article Monday about the Vilsack v King race and we find  King’s statement about the upcoming campaign rather telling.

“King is determined to steer the race toward a high-profile debate on national issues and a referendum on the Obama White House. He predicted that local issues would play a relatively minor role in the race [italics BFIA’s], and that the agenda items central to his campaign would be health care, the nation’s deficit and taxes.”

District 4 voters, pass this around so everyone who votes in your district knows what your current congressman is really concerned about:

  • When King says health care, he means repealing health care reforms, not providing you better health care.
  • When he says taxes, he’s not interested in reducing yours, he’s interested in seeing that corporations do not pay their fair share.
  • When he says deficit, he means obstructing anything President Obama tries to do to help the American economy recover.
  • And when he says local issues will play a minor role, understand that the last thing on his mind right now  is whatever is on your mind.  Jobs?

For the second time in just a few days, Maya Angelou’s words come to mind:  “When people show you who they are, believe them.”
