This was a very sobering experience to see the rows and rows of boots with name tags on them. I attended the one in Davenport at beautiful Lindsey Park overlooking the Mississippi River. We listened as the names of the dead were read for 2 hours. Many were in their 20's. Even a few in their 40's and I saw one tag of a man in his 60's.
Several people read the names of the Americans killed in the war. Also read by others was a list of Iraqi citizens who have died.
Most heart-wrentching was listening to Monica Kirth (one of the local organizers) read the name of a one year old Iarqi girl…..
