The Harkin Steak Fry

The Harkin Steak Fry

by Linda Thieman

Democracy
for America and Democracy for Iowa are teaming up to pay tribute to our
good friend and ally, Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA).

This
Sunday, September 19, we’ll be creating a presence at the annual Harkin
Steak Fry in Indianola, Iowa.  The Steak Fry is one of Iowa’s top
political events each year, as thousands of Iowans gather in Sen.
Harkin’s home county to energize the party and to thank Sen. Harkin for
standing up for what is right.

Sunday, September 19

12-4pm, serving 12-3pm

Indianola Balloon Field

Indianola, Iowa

You can RSVP here through DFA’s Get Organized event page.

Or, you can RSVP through Linda Thieman of DFIA at steakfry@democracyforiowa.com

The
event page offers complete information on how to buy tickets, how to
get directions to the event from your home town, and how to hitch a
ride on one of the many buses traveling to the Steak Fry from all over
Iowa.

For updates, check out Blog for Iowa, the official website of Democracy for Iowa, throughout the week.

Please join us for a day of great food, great music, and good fun!  We hope to see you there!

I'm supposed to be doing some volunteering for the Warren Co. Democrats that day. If you see an old man wondering around wearing a black baseball cap with a patch that says Vietnam Security Police Association, approach only from the front and not the rear and everything will turn out OK. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

    LOL. OK, we'll be careful!
I have managed to secure a booth at the Steak Fry for DFIA. If anyone wants to leave literature or buttons for their DFA/DFIA group or candidates you support, you are most welcome to.
The booth is actually a card table and 2 chairs. The card tables will be set up in a horseshoe. It's first come, first served.
We are allowed to bring signs and carry them and put them on our card table, but we are not allowed to plaster signs like last year. Alta will be bringing some great, colorful signs for our people to use.
On the table, we are allowed to provide literature, buttons, and stickers to give away. Can't sell any merchandise or food.
