Iowa Democratic Party Holds Platform Hearing Online
The Platform Committee of the Iowa Democratic Party has completed preliminary work on the party platform for 2004. A preliminary report of the platform subcommittees has been posted for public comment.
This is our big chance! Go tell them what you think. I know that Phil Specht, the DFIA Founding Member from McGregor, has put a lot of work into the platform, and has recently emerged from the Platform Committee cave in which he was being held captive. Good to see you out and about again, Phil!

The official IDP platform will be ratified at the State Convention on June 26th.

Didn't you have a civil unions plank that got taken out, or am I confused? How was your plank worded? Could we change the wording of this plank at state convention, or is it too late to make changes?

If you are lurking here, thank you for posting some right on comment at the IDP home page posting of the preliminary platform.
You and I agree, but the committee on a 23-21 vote went with language they thought supported Kerry.
The minority report backs Dean's position.
Neither support the Mass. Supreme Court.
